Choosing cat enclosures & catios

A new outlook for a curious cat. Explore cat enclosures and catios with upright, horizontal and joined layouts, then find a footprint that works with your space.

01

Think floor space and height

Compare usable floor area as well as platforms and overall height. An upright catio and a wide cat enclosure make different use of the same garden or patio.

02

Plan the access

Check how your cat will enter, how you will reach the interior and where doors open. A freestanding enclosure is not automatically a house-connected cat run.

03

Single or joined?

Loft Single and Loft Duo are separate configurations. Check the number of modules and the connection details, rather than judging the package from a photograph alone.

Cat Enclosures & Catios: your questions

Is a catio the same as a cat enclosure?

Catio is a common name for an enclosed outdoor space for cats. Product designs vary, so compare the actual layout, access and specifications rather than relying on the name.

Can I choose a vertical or horizontal layout?

The Vista range has separate vertical and horizontal options. Use the configuration links on its product pages to compare them. Dimensions are specific to the selected arrangement.

Is a cat cage suitable for permanent housing?

A transport cage and a cat enclosure serve different purposes. Suitability depends on usable space, enrichment, shelter and your cat’s needs. Ask for any missing measurements before deciding; a product name is not a welfare specification.
